[1]    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
      
      Pentium 90
      32MB RAM running in Windows 95 and NROS
      16MB RAM running in MS-DOS mode
      3Dfx Voodoo/Rush based video card
      3Dfx Glide drivers version 2.43 or higher
     
 
[2] NEW FEATURES:

The 3Dfx version of NASCAR2 has a few graphics options that can be set either 
before you run the NASCAR2 3Dfx executable at the command prompt or in your 
AUTOEXEC.BAT file.  Placing the environment settings in your AUTOEXEC.BAT will 
not effect other programs.  These settings are specific to the NASCAR2 3Dfx 
executable.  Below is a list of new features and their usage.

COMMAND LINE OPTION
 [-3DFX]   
Usage: NAS3DFX.EXE -3DFX
Allows you to take screenshot.  Screen shots are saved in TGA format.
You will need a paint program that supports the TGA file format in order to 
view the screen shot.  Please refer to the paint program's instructions for 
assistance in opening this file format.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
Anti-Alias:
 N2FXAA=[0-2]
Usage:  SET N2FXAA=0      Turns off Anti-Alias.
        SET N2FXAA=1      Turns on Anti-Alias for flat shaded polygons.
        SET N2FXAA=2      Turns on all Anti-Aliasing.
Frame rates may drop on slower machines when Anti-Alias feature is used.  

Fog:   
 N2FXFOG=[0.00-2.0]
Usage:  SET N2FXFOG=0.01 
        Turns on fog. Light fog [0.01] to heavy fog [2.0].
        Suggested: 0.01

Fog Color:
 N2FXFOGCOLOR=[0x0-0xffffff] 
RGB values used.  This is optional when fogging.
Usage:  SET N2FXFOGCOLOR=0xa8a8a8      (Default setting)
      

Texture loading:
 N2FXLOAD=[0x0-0xffffffff]
Sets memory threshold for loading high or low res textures.  Measured in bytes(hex).
When more than the set amount of bytes are downloaded, further texture downloads     
will be lower resolution.  
Usage:  SET N2FXLOAD=0x0          To force low-res textures.
        SET N2FXLOAD=0xffffffff   To force high-res textures.
Default setting:  0x100000        Texture memory set to 1MB before using low-res textures.
For higher memory settings, below are some other suggested settings.
   1.5MB= 0x180000
   2.0MB= 0x200000
   2.5MB= 0x280000
To convert other memory settings, you can use the Calculator supplied with Windows 95. A
Scientific VIEW is available.  Please consult Windows 95 instructions or help for 
assistance.  1MB of RAM= 1048576 bytes =100000 hexadecimal.
Frame rates improve with low-res textures.  Especially on 3Dfx cards with   
only 2MB of textures memory.  Cards with more than 2MB of texture memory 
will see improved frame rates overall because the card does not need to 
load the textures as frequently.


[3] NROS:

In order to use the environment variables (refer to Section II) in NROS, add 
them to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.  Restart system after making changes to your 
AUTOEXEC.BAT file for environment setting to take effect.  It is recommended 
that you back up your AUTOEXEC.BAT file prior to making changes.


[4] KNOWN ISSUES:

Mouse does not go to bottom of screen and/or moves slowly.  This may occur when running 
from Window 95. To correct this, set the NAS3DFX.EXE and NROS.EXE properties to 
'Full-screen' on the SCREEN Usage tab.
 
If your system has 16MB of RAM, you will need to shut down Windows 95 and 
RESTART IN MS-DOS MODE.  Please consult your Window 95 instructions if necessary.

Some textures may appear blurry or hard to read at some tracks.
 
Running NAS3DFX with a Pure3D.  If you experience a problem running NAS3DFX.EXE or 
NROS3DFX.EXE on a Pure3D, copy the GLIDE2X.OVL file to your NASCAR2 directory. 
Glide2x.ovl can be found in the DOS or DOSGLIDE directory of the Pure3D CD. 

When using the Anti-alias feature, you may notice 2 lines in the IN-CAR view or 
occasional black area on the track.  This does not effect the handling or driving 
of the car in any way.

Green outline on some objects when in RACE session.  This may occur at some tracks 
that have fences.  The effect disappears after a couple of laps.
